Who Am I?
My name is Megan Gonzales. I am a teacher candidate studying at Cal State University, San Marcos. I will obtain a single subject mathematics credential in 2016. I've lived in Encinitas (San Diego beach community) for as long as I can remember. I had a wonderful experience attending the public schools in my community from grades K-12. It was hard for me to decide upon a university when the time came. I chose to stay close to home (and near the beach) by attending the University of California, at San Diego. Go Tritons! I earned my degree in economics with minor in psychology.
So why teach math? Teaching was not something I had always planned on. During my time at UCSD I became a math tutor. I discovered that I truly enjoyed helping others learn about math. So the next logical step in my mind was to pursue teaching mathematics as a career.
In my free-time I enjoy listening to music, going to the beach, and spending time with my family and friends. I also love traveling. I spent one summer backpacking all across Europe. I have two adorable kitties, Marley and Reef. And, yes, I take way too many pictures of them.
